Kottathalachi Mala is a hill situated 2700 feet above sea-level in the Western Ghats. This hill is a store house of rare and precious medicinal herbs. This hill is also the home to many rare birds and butterflies.
Kottathalachi Mala is a famous Christian pilgrim centre. There is a church on top of the hill. Kottathalachi Mala provides breath-taking view from every side. The weather keeps changing every now and then. At times, it’s cold and foggy at other times warm and cosy. We get a panoramic view of the distant places, the houses, the roads and churches from here. One can even see a college and its stadium very far away.
To reach Kottathalachi Mala, first reach Thabore junction, ride for another 200m before turning right to Kozhichal road. Then it’s a ride downhill with many bends and turns through a narrow road. Kozhichal is a tiny village lying close to Karnataka border. Turn left to reach Cherupuzha town. This is a fascinating place with beautiful landscape, hill ranges, mist and forests.
