I was enjoying by seeing rain in sunlight that is on the May month. Suddenly I got one phone call from Lijo by asking about the bike ride in Monsoon. I agreed with with his opinion.He told that will go to Munnar.After a long time again one travel with him.
On the first week of the June, I tied rain coat in my bike and started from my home. On the way I picked up my friend Lijo from Perumbavoor. By 7 o clock we reached Kothamangalam after 30 minutes of ride. When we were having coffee remembered about the route to Mangulam through the Kuttambuzha, Urulanthanni and through the Panthapra to Malakkandam. So we decided to close the route that is through the Munnar.And started to go through the small forest.
From Kothamangalam Bypass road took the left turn to Thattekkadu through Keerampara route. There was heavy rain till Thattekadu. After that the rain has come down when the forest area started.The happiness to ride the bike in pattering rain made us to forget about the breakfast.The Periyar and Kuttampuzhayar was full of water.We saw the board which is written Unjappara Bascule.But no time to go there. So we thought of visit on next time because it’s near only.
We had breakfast from Kuttambuzha town at 9 o clock and started going through the Mamalakandam road. Then also we enquired with one person.The route was correct but he noticed regarding the elephants visit on that way.
So we reached the way that is to Pinavoorkudi and Panthapra.Instead of going to Urulanthanni directly gone to Mamalakkandam.Inbetween there are small places in Pinavoorkudi.The places are Mangathotti view,Muthanam mudi view etc. Later only we came to know that one of the person from Pinavoorkudi Anandhu had added these places to the google.So we thought of visiting these places at next time.
The ride was through the concrete road in the forest of Panthapra. Only one bus is there to this route. There was not having sufficient space for the road.The sides of the road was having fence with the electricity to protect the fields from elephants.The farming for the ginger, turmeric,tapiocca etc was there.
While climbing up the road has become small.The drizzling has stopped.We took photos from Samikkottapara and started going to forest with the use of first gear for climbing on the hills. In this journey we couldn’t able to see the elephants but we satisfied by seeing faeces.The desolate forest area is going to finish. There are some houses. Finally we reached the place Malakkandam,the village with full of agriculture. That is of ginger, turmeric,cocoa etc. And the place is with the plenty of bamboos.
