We should visit Padmanabhapuram palace to understand the proud of the 400 years old Thiruvithamkoor. The palace is situated in Thakkala of Tamilnadu but the maintenance is done by Kerala Antique department.
The temple was originally built in 6 th century A. D, and later beautified further by the Kings of Travancore after 10 centuries. This palace is situated at the East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram. It is based on the best Kerala vasthu vidya with the wood of ‘teak’. Total 127 rooms are there.
There is one hanging lamp with the horse statue on it in the gate house. This lamp can be changed to any sides. When we see up the wood that are decorated with 90 flowers are visible.
We can able to see the coat that is made up of granite,the chair which is gifted by China seller, the ‘onavillu’ with the padmanabhan’s picture on the yard. From here we can go to the dramaroom.Now the ancient statues are kept very safely. On the next room some pooja items are keeping and can see the yard which is there in centre. Unknowingly I melted while seeing through the windows from up to the down.Near to this Ananthapuram also is there.
The bed for the King is made up with the woods of 64 trees.The picture was drawn on the bed was looking like Medical association symbol.
There was pictures that is drawn on the walls.
The Kings were used the chariot for the festivals to come and see their people. The indravilasam which is made for the foreign guests are having the influence of foreign vastuvidhya…
When I stepped down through the staircase the flowers were standing by laughing…. I left from there and started walking to see the palace on the south.Simply I looked back and remembered the song from Malayalam movie. Again I started walking….. One museum was there opposite to the road and it is having manjam,musical instruments, and the things which are used in kitchen of ancient days.
After that we can see the place for the dance which is made up of stones.There we can hear the jingling bell sounds of the Nagavalli ‘s anklet.
The Udayagiri is situated 2 kms away from here. And it under the custody of Tamilnadu forest department. There was the children’s park inside and many deers can be seen here.
